Earlier this month, I shared my Artisan Bread Dough recipe with all of you, and as promised over the next several weeks I will be sharing some of the ways that I use the dough. Today, I am going to show you how to make super easy and delicious homemade bread sticks! You can season them however you want to, but I am going to share two of the ways that I like to do it.
I love anything and everything with garlic. The garlic seasoning recipe that I use originally came from Our Best Bites, but I slightly adapted it. This recipe can be used on many other things besides these bread sticks. It is delicious added to butter and placed on french bread, or mixed into red potatoes that have been cut into bite size pieces. This seasoning also makes a great “gift in a jar” for those on your Christmas list.
Sometimes, you just want something sweet to eat. Making these bread sticks with a cinnamon-sugar topping is oh so yummy! Makes for a great addition to a brunch or an after school snack.
Homemade Bread Sticks made with Artisan Bread Dough
Here is what you need:
1 recipe of Artisan Bread Dough
Melted Butter
Garlic Seasoning Mix:
1/2 cup 100% Natural Parmesan and Romano, grated cheese (you can find this right beside the Kraft Parmesan Cheese.)
2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
2 teaspoons Oregano
2 teaspoons Basil
2 teaspoons Marjoram
2 teaspoons Parsley
Combine seasoning mix ingredients. Place in a jar, and store leftovers in the refrigerator.
Cinnamon Sugar Mix:
1/8 cup White Sugar
3/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
Combine ingredients. I save my leftovers in a Pampered Chef shaker container.
First, grab a ball of the dough, and roll it out.
Next, using a pizza cutter, cut your dough into strips.
You can cut them as wide as you want to.
I let my bread sticks sit out for about an hour, just to get them to room temperature.
You can let them sit out longer if you want to wait for them to rise.
We were hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer!
You can twist them or ….
you can lay them flat.
Now, use a pastry brush and brush each strip with melted butter
and then top with the garlic seasoning, cinnamon-sugar seasoning or seasoning of your choice.
Bake @ 450 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes.
If you like them soft, cook them for less time, if you like them crunchy, cook them longer.
Enjoy!

I was so glad to find this! I had 5-minute dough in the fridge but had never tried breadsticks with it before. Thank you for the instructions!
