Robert Mondavi is a well recognized name in the wine world. Centered in the Lodi AVA, Woodbridge Winery by Robert Mondavi is producing some spectacular wines. I have had the pleasure of trying two white varieties recently, and it was very much my pleasure.
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi
*Disclosure: I received wine at no charge to taste and review. All opinions expressed are honest and my own.
I usually am not a big white wine fan. Living in South East Washington State, I tend to like Syrahs and Merlots. I actually let these few bottles sit around a bit, not particularly excited to pull that cork out and give them a go. When I finally did break them open, well… they didn’t last long!
I first tried the Woodbridge Pinot Grigio. It is 78% Pinot Grigiio and 22% Aromatic White Varieties. It is described as having, “aromas of lime and fresh citrus”. With a residual sugar of .30% it does bring just a hint of sweetness that pairs perfectly with light dishes such as seafood and fruits. It is rather smooth and clean tasting, which I feel is from it’s aging in stainless steel tanks rather than oak.
The next bottle I opened up was the Woodbridge Sauvignon Blanc. It has a unique blend of 77% Sauvignon Blanc, 9% French Colombard, 4% Semillion, 3% Verdelho and 7% Aromatic White Varieties. This wine has been defined as having, “round, full flavors of pineapple and lime.” With this blend, they have produced an easy wine to sit back and enjoy on it’s own or paired with light summer fruits and salads or seafoods. I imagine this wine while sitting out on the porch on a hot summers day.
It is clear that Woodbridge Winery by Robert Mondavi takes a lot of pride in what they do. The wine making process has truly become an art. From harvesting during cool nights and immediately pressing whole clusters to capture the right flavor and character, all the way to taking a more delicate pressing approach to preserve the purity of the juice. They have mastered what they need to do with each wine to bring us a spectacular result.
I would highly recommend any of the wines with the Woodbridge by Mondavi label as you are sure to get a great bottle of wine!

Horrible dispensing nozzle. Difficult to open then it dispenses very slowly. It’s not my first time, matter of fact, I bought it the second time. Never again. Please let me know when you improve the nozzle.
