It’s been awhile since we’ve celebrated Wine on Wednesday, but I have a great new wine that I can’t wait to tell you about!
I was in my local Total Wine and saw a wine that caught my eye. I’m not going to lie, the only reason I noticed it was because it has the same name as my daughter, but when I looked at the description I was intrigued. I love any Chardonnay that has ‘creamy and ‘vanilla’ in the description and this one had both, so I decided to give Chloe Chardonnay a try, and I was not disappointed.
The nose of the Chloe Chardonnay had notes of pear, vanilla and lemon. In tasting the wine, the first flavors I noted were pear, lemon, citrus and grapefruit. It had a lovely, fruit forward taste but wasn’t too sweet or acitic. But the finish of the wine was my favorite part-there were subtle hints of vanilla and a buttery, creamy taste and texture.
Chloe Chardonnay has everything I love about a Chardonnay wine and has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s fruity but not sweet, has a nice smooth finish, and as I said, I love creamy tasting wines with vanilla notes. This wine would pair wonderfully with creamy pastas with lemon, light chicken and seafood dishes, or even with fruits (I want to make a grilled pear appetizer to pair with this wine!). It’s also great to enjoy all by itself!
I would suggest Chloe Chardonnay for people who like less sweet wines and/or wines with citrus notes. If you’re someone who likes buttery chardonnay, this would be a perfect choice for you.
