We finally hit that point that even at the Halloween Costume Store, we didn’t find anything that my daughter wanted to be. Not to mention that you end up paying an outrageous price for cheap costumes. Especially when they outgrow the kids size and you have to shop in the adult section (where most of those are far too skimpy for my child!).
That’s when it’s time to hit your local second hand store and let your creativity drive you. Despicable Me is one of our favorite films and we have for a long time said our daughter is a bit like lovely little Edith. We were on a mission and were surprised just how easy it was to find most of her costume at one thrift shop! The leggings we picked up on sale at the Shopko next door. We just need to make her a little minion to carry along and she’s set!
We found the sweater, skirt, boots and hat all at the thift shop for a great deal! Best part is, she can use each and every one of those items again and again and again!
My other daughter is being Jessie from Toy Story.
ALL of those clothes we already had at home.
All we need to do is paint her hair red and put it in braids!
Happy Halloween!
