The Road to Success | Motivation Monday

It’s a new year, new goals, and I wanted to find a new way to continue to feature our blogging friends as that was one of our original goals in starting our Foodie Friends Friday Linky Party and Daily Dish Magazine.

So starting today, I want to share with you some stories of our blogging friends struggles and successes in hopes that it helps you stay motivated on the road to success in blogging!

The Road to Success | Motivation Monday

So first up this week, I, of course, am going to share a story from one of the original members of Foodie Friends Friday and regular Daily Dish Magazine contributor, Lois from Walking on Sunshine!

Name: Lois Christensen

Blog Name: Walking on Sunshine

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging almost 9 years ago.  I really can’t believe it’s been that long!

What is your goal in blogging?

Blogging is a way for me to share a little of my life and my love for cooking and entertaining.  I want to continue to grow my readership and develop even more friendships along the way.

What do you struggle with most in blogging?

I struggle with comparing my blog with other blogs way too much.  I also struggle with friends and family not really understanding what I do as a blogger and a Virtual Administrator.   It would be nice to get something other than a blank stare when I tell others I’m a blogger.

What do you think helps motivate you most in blogging?

The quality of other blogs.  I also enjoy hearing from my followers that they tried a recipe and loved it.

What is your biggest success in blogging?

My Hasselback Chicken recipe went  viral last spring and it increased my following tremendously.

What recommendations can you make for others who want to start their own blog?

Learn what SEO is all about and start using it in your very first blog post.   And regardless of who is visiting your blog, publish new content on a regular basis.  Don’t publish one post and then disappear.  People like consistency.
All great tips from Lois. I LOVE all that she does on her blog and you simply must stop by and visit!
In the spirit of Motivation Monday, I also have a FREE Printable for you too!  I hope to offer you a motivational print every week.
