Want to know a little secret? Sometimes when I find a ready-made time-saving solution that is good as homemade, I take the opportunity. This is true when I’m looking to sweeten up my Spring with pies that look and taste just like homemade because they are made with high-quality ingredients with special touches like chocolate curls or hand-made lattice crusts. Yes, you guessed it, I’m talking about Marie Callender’s frozen ready-made pies!

Dress Up Your Pies!

Our families favorite are chocolate cream pies. Marie Callender’s has an amazing Chocolate Silk Pie that is smooth and creamy, full of flavor and topped with whipped topping and giant chocolate curls. YUM!

Now I could just serve it up just as is to my family but because the sun is shining and all the flowers blooming and we are able to sit outside and enjoy it, I decided to “Sweeten our Spring” and add some simple embellishments to celebrate the season.

To do this, I simply stop in the baking aisle of my local market and it’s easy to find all sorts of decorative frostings, candies, and sprinkles. I decided to use some pretty pink and blue pastels candies to create spring flowers with a little bit of green frosting for leaves.

You don’t have to be an artist, just lay out a bed of green slightly larger than your candies and then arrange the candies in the shape of a flower. One in the center and then surround it with the opposite color. Even the kids can do this it’s so simple!

I love how it turned out and the candies add a little extra chocolate crunch too.
