The Legend of Smurfy Hollow

My family was lucky enough to be invited to the Sony Animation Studios in LA for a screening of the newest Smurf Adventure “The Legend of Smurfy Hollow”, which is in stores now.  It was extra special for us since our girls have never been to a movie theater before!  This story was so fun for them, and I loved the throwback to the 2 dimensional smurfs of my childhood.  There was just enough spooky excitement to really get into the spirit of Halloween.

All of the children who got to attend dressed up in their Halloween costumes.  Every mom I talked to was so happy to get an extra use out of them!  My girls came as a witch and Wonder Woman, but we saw an array of super heroes, cowboys, ballerinas, pirates, and more.

The wonderful people at Sony had an amazing afternoon for us filled with crafts, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, and a chance to meet some real smurfs!  I loved the fun ways to decorate pumpkins.  My girls used markers, glitter puffy paint, foam stickers, and little puff balls to adorn theirs.  Such a great change of pace from standard carving.

They did, however, have the most brilliant carved pumpkin I have ever seen.  There was an artist working on this amazing pumpkin creation with the movie logo the entire time.  It was such a treat to watch it take shape over the course of the afternoon.

All in all, we had a lovely family afternoon and got to watch a great Smurf short movie.  If you are looking for a fun show to get your family ready for Halloween, go pick up “The Legend of Smurfy Hollow”.  It’s the perfect movie to have on while you are carving or decorating your pumpkins!
