Lemon Drop Martini

Some people make Christmas Cookies…. I like to experiment with cocktails during the Holidays!  There are a billion recipes out there claiming to be the perfect Lemon Drop Martini recipe, and every restaurant seems to put their own twist on it.  My twist, well, I like mine a bit on the strong and tart side so I will warn you, this is not for the weak!  I also use a sugar substitute in place of a simple syrup or real sugar. (It makes me feel better about having 2, lol!) 

My very favorite Lemon Drop Martini I have had is a killer happy hour special at Twigs Martini Bistro.  This doesn’t quite measure up to the real thing, but when I need a Lemony fix at home, this will do it every time! 

 

 

Lemony Drop Martini

Ingredients

• 2 oz. Smirnoff Citrus Vodka
• 1 oz Triple Sec
• 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
• 1 packet of Truvia Sweetener (add more to your liking)
• Ice

Instructions

1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker
2. Shake well to be sure the sweetener dissolves
3. Pour into martini glass
4. *Optional: Sugar the rim with real sugar to add extra sweetness while drinking!

Notes

• This produces a pretty strong and tart Lemon Drop, If you like sweet, you will need to add more sugar to this recipe!
