On my recent tour of Las Vegas, my friend and I had a chance to experience a quaint little “hideaway” at the Wynn Hotel. La Cave is a small and intimate space featuring fine wine and a unique menu featuring fresh ingredients from the farm to the sea. Small plates are perfect for pairing or sharing with friends.
I love the large oversize tables and seating options. It is perfect for an intimate dinner for two or for a large group of friends. The atmosphere transports you out of the bustling casino/hotel and brings you into a quiet and luxurious space.
We had the opportunity to do a tasting of several of the most popular dishes and I was very pleasantly surprised at the portions. For a “small plate” each dish had approximately three to five servings. We found that by sharing, ordering 2-3 plates was plenty filling.
Among some of the dishes we tried was the Ahi tuna served with avocado sweet chili on a crispy cracker, bacon-wrapped dates with bleu cheese fondue, Mushroom Grits, Salmon Sashimi Tostadas, jumbo lump crab lettuce cups, an amazing Shrimp dish with fingerling potatoes, and a Signature Flatbread.
The wine list was extensive and very impressive but this visit we chose to sample a few of the signature cocktails. I honestly don’t think you’d be disappointed in any drink you ordered.
The staff was so friendly and even charged my phone for me while we enjoyed dinner. I am so excited to go back and try more of the menu as there are SO many choices.
