Harissa is a hot chili paste that is commonly found in North African cooking, like Moroccan and Tunisian cuisine. Most blends I’ve found consist of various chilies, garlic, salt, olive oil, coriander, caraway and cumin. Some added mint, others lemon also.
This paste is added to sandwiches like a spread, mixed in soups and dressings and used to flavor fish, chicken and seafood.
Keep this paste topped with oil so it doesn’t dry out.
