I have really wanted to start restaurant reviews for a while now, so naturally, I decided to start with one of my favorites: Utage in Athens, GA. Utage is a wonderful sushi bar that offers other Japanese food as well. It is some of the freshest sushi you will find in north Georgia. The atmosphere is dressy enough for date night, but being in a college town, casual dress is just fine. And, the prices are very reasonable. They regularly feature specials that offer two rolls with salad and miso soup for under twenty dollars.
Every time I have been there, the service has been great. They will even go so far as to make sure your sushi doesn’t come in contact with sushi you are allergic to, which makes this restaurant even better since I have some allergies.
Pictured is a special that Utage was having the night my husband and I ate there a few week’s back. In front, is the Shrimp Tempura Roll, and in the back is one of my favorites, the Utage Special Roll. The Utage Special Roll is a deep fried tuna roll with what they call a special sauce. The special also came with soup and salad like I mentioned above, and we ordered edamame as an appetizer. In addition to being delicious, this was a tremendous amount of food. I even gave my husband the last few pieces because I couldn’t eat it all.
So, if you are going to be in Athens, Georgia, and you like sushi, this is the place for you!
