As Summer has finally arrived and the kids are out of school, I’m already finding the need for new entertainment for those long Summer days. The kids can be easily bored and finding new activities is a must. One of my favorite resources for new ideas, yummy recipes, family fun, and tips of all kinds is P&Geveryday. This website has so much great information and fun ideas for moms to keep the kids busy. The next project we will be making that I found on the site is Homemade Rock Candy!
I remember begging my parents to buy me rock candy as a kid and thought there was nothing cooler than the pretty colors of the candy crystals on the stick. It wasn’t until years later did I learn you could actually easily make your own and honestly, that just makes it even cooler. To watch the crystals form is half the fun and then you get to enjoy it when it’s all done. How much are your kids going to love doing that? You will boost your cool mom status for sure!
You probably even have most of the items you need to make homemade rock candy sitting in your pantry as we speak, and it’s a very easy project so even younger ones can join in with parent supervision (requires boiling water). It’s even a pretty cheap project to do together. Score!
I can not wait to see the faces of my kids when we try this at home!

I did this with my kids when they were younger, and they loved it!
I love rock candy… think I should try making it myself.
Looks so easy! Love the colors!
