The sound of laughter, stories being told, family gathered together, fire burning, delicious food on the table. These are just a few of my comforts from home. Tradition. The simple things in life that you miss when you are gone.
No matter how simple, my favorite comfort from home is coming together with my family at the end of the day for dessert. No matter how busy our days are, if we had dinner on the run, we always end up back at home, sitting down for dessert and talking about the day.
Now Marie Callender’s is bringing back the Comforts from Home Project to help give our troops some of the Comforts from Home that they all miss out on by partnering with the USO in support of the USO Operation Celebration™ program.
By purchasing participating products of Marie’s frozen dinners and desserts with a special code and entering the code onto the Comforts of Home website, you can help bring some Comforts from Home to others. For each code, Marie’s donates money to USO Operation Celebration™ which provides holiday celebrations to our troops!
In addition to entering codes, Marie’s is asking users to submit their own photos in support of the USO to Facebook in the Comforts from Home Challenge. Your photos just might be featured on-air during special episodes of Kitchen Crashers on HGTV,the Travel Channel “American Heros” airing on 11/9 at 10pm EST, and Guy’s Grocery Games on the Food Network.
Simply upload your photo of your own Comforts from Home to Facebook, tag Marie Callender’s and include #ComfortsFromHome. The contest will be hosted on the HGTV, Travel Channel starting 10/19 and the Food Network Pages after 11/2 as well.
