A few days ago, I shared with you my adventure in preparing for our weekend road trip for a family wedding with my “Snackation” snack stash that I picked up at Walmart.  Well let me tell you, I am so thankful that I packed it along for our long ride.

We grabbed all our bags as soon as the kids got home from school and we were off and they were hungry! It took all of two minutes for them to break into our snackation snack bag and see what goodies they could find.  I was so great because it kept us full until we reached our destination for the night (about half way to our final destination) at around 9 pm.

In the morning, we were of course on the run again trying to catch the ferry to make it to the wedding on time.  This was serious high stress.  We barely made it on! Just two cars came in behind us and the ferry was pulling away from the dock before we even got out of our car.  Again, thankfully we had our snack bag we put together from Walmart since we had zero time to stop for food.

Finally we made it to the hotel for the wedding! Yay!

Isn’t the view just amazing? Totally worth the long drive.  The wedding was absolutely beautiful and visiting with family who came in from all over was so much fun.  I’m so happy we were able to make the trip.

We found it handy again to have our snack bag late Saturday night in our room when we got the munchies and again on Sunday when of course we did the mad dash to the ferry all over again.  This time we weren’t so lucky and had to wait an hour for the next one.  Good thing we had mom approved eats in the car!

Sunday was a really long day driving but we made it back home in time to watch our favorite football team and relax a few hours before bed. It was a crazy whirlwind weekend and our last big event of our summer season.  Now to bring on school days, volleyball, and beautiful fall weather.  My favorite time to be home!
