Easy Peppermint Mocha Ice Cream for Easy Entertaining

The holidays are coming quickly upon us and it’s time to start creating for our holiday parties! Every year, the weekends of December are filled with friends and family gathering to celebrate and food is typically at the center of these parties.  I love making desserts so that’s what I always volunteer to contribute to all our get togethers but don’t have the time to make something elaborate.  That’s where using simple ingredients and shortcuts come in for easy entertaining.  For this Easy Peppermint Mocha Ice Cream, using instant NESCAFÉ® Tasters Choice® and NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer allowed me to get great coffee flavor fast and skip the extra sugars, extracts and chocolate, and half and half I traditionally use in ice cream! 

Easy Peppermint Mocha Ice Cream

 

 

I headed out to my local Walmart store to shop for everything I needed to get started.  My ingredients list is pretty simple so I needed to head to the coffee isle to pick up the NESCAFÉ® Tasters Choice® Instant Coffee (I selected the package with individual single serve packets).  

Next I headed over to the refrigerated items isle which is at the very back of my store to grab the Peppermint Mocha flavored NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer.  The holiday flavors are grouped together a few doors down from the rest of the regular flavors of coffee creamers.  I grabbed my milk and was on my way! 

 

 

Once home, I pulled out our ice cream maker but you can do this without a traditional ice cream maker if you choose, it just takes a while longer.  I gathered all my ingredients and got my recipe started.  It truly is so easy to make.  All you have to do is combine all the ingredients and stir, then you’re ready to wait for wonderful ice cream!  

 

By using the instant coffee, it speeds up the process while delivering fresh and smooth coffee flavor, as well as using the Coffee-mate creamer, I can leave out extra sugar, chocolate and flavorings because this one product gives cool peppermint and rich sweet chocolate flavor in one ingredient! 

 

Easy Peppermint Mocha Ice Cream

A simple and tasty peppermint mocha flavored ice cream using instant coffee and coffee creamer!

Ingredients

• 4 TBSP Hot Water
• 1 Package Single Serve Instant NESCAFE Coffee
• 1 Cup Peppermint Mocha Coffee Creamer
• 2 Cups Whole Milk
• Chocolate Syrup (optional)
• Candy Canes (optional)

Instructions

1. Dissolve packet of instant coffee in hot water
2. Stir coffee, creamer and milk together into a bowl
3. Pour into ice cream maker
4. Top with chocolate syrup and crushed candy cane before serving

Notes

• If you do not have an ice cream maker, you can place mixture in shallow pan and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes to break apart crystals to form a creamy ice cream.

 

While I love eating ice cream straight from a bowl, It’s even better when you eat it with other goodies!  For me, I picked up some bakery ready chocolate cookies and put together some easy ice cream sandwiches too!  Simply place a heaping spoon of softened ice cream between two cookies, roll edges in crushed peppermint, then place back in freezer to harden!
