Easy Cinco de Mayo Sangrias

Cinco de Mayo Sangrias

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today I thought I’d bring by one of my favorite recipes from my own blog, Busy Vegetarian Mom.  What better way to celebrate the holiday than with easy Cinco de Mayo Sangrias!  You really can use any wine you have on hand.  A rose works fantastic, but a red or white will even work fine.  Enjoy it over ice or freeze it for a slushy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Pink Muscato, Rose or Zinfandel
  • 1 can light lemonade mix
  • 1 Liter Diet 7-up
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Lemon
  • Maraschino Cherries

Instructions

  1. Combine wine, lemonade mix and 7 up in one large pitcher (I use 2 large mason jars)
  2. Slice the lemon and lime and add to pitcher.
  3. Scoop about 10 cherries and 2 TSBP cherry juice into pitcher.
  4. Add 2 cups crushed ice and let sit in freezer or fridge until ready to serve.

Notes

  • The longer it sits, the more the flavors blend together and gets even more delish!

How long does it keep in the refrigerator?

    1. It never sticks around long enough for me to find out for sure, but I’d say your safe for at least a week if not longer! You could always pop it back into the freezer to keep it longer.
