Some mornings it’s hard getting everything together and the kids on the bus at the right time.
That’s why I love this recipe for crock pot oatmeal.
You put everything together the night before and when you wake up in the morning, breakfast is ready!

Crock Pot Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt ( I omitted this)
  • 2 cups of oatmeal
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of water

Directions:

Layer the first 4 ingredients in the bottom of the crock pot that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

Now, add the oatmeal, milk and water.
DO NOT STIR!

Cook overnight on LOW for 8 to 9 hours.  I used an older crock pot that cooks slow.
Some of the newer crock pots cook way too fast in my opinion.

I put everything together and plugged in my crock pot at 11:00 at night.
When I came down to my kitchen at 6:00 the next morning my oatmeal was done.

Oatmeal looking and smelling delicious…

Breakfast is ready…

The kitchen smelled liked heaven and it was so nice to wake up to a delicious WARM breakfast all ready for me.

I put my crock pot on the “Keep Warm” setting until I was ready to eat.
The oatmeal came out more like a baked oatmeal, but so YUMMY.

This recipe does make a good amount of oatmeal, which was way too much for me to eat for one breakfast.
I put the leftovers in a plastic container and enjoyed the oatmeal over the next few days for breakfast.

The oatmeal heats up beautifully in the microwave.

I hope you’ll enjoy this delicious breakfast.
