Convenient Meals Many Ways with Kraft #RecipeMakers

When someone gives me a challenge that will make my life easier, I’m always willing to take it.  This week was the PERFECT week to try the new Kraft Recipe Makers.  My weekend was crazy busy and we didn’t get home until 11:30 pm Sunday night, then I had to turn around and go to my day job 8-5 Monday and Tuesday, all the while, doing laundry and packing to fly out straight from work Wednesday to go to Cali for D23!  Did I have extra time? NO!

So on my lunch hour Tuesday, I dropped into Safeway and picked up a box of Kraft Recipe Makers, some pre-cooked chicken, shredded cheese, and tortillas.  I found the box on prominent display right above the meats in the center.  Right next to the chicken actually… hmmm… how convenient.  This meal was going to need to be easy and fast.  I had so much to do to get ready to leave town again and still find time to spend with my kiddos.

I chose the Verde Chicken Enchilada Box.  The coolest thing about these packages, is they give you 3 different recipe options for the package right on the box so you know exactly what you need for whichever recipe you choose.  Many of them even have slow cooker options which I LOVE!

Me being in a tremendous hurry chose the traditional enchilada recipe, but modified it for SUPER busy moms and turned it into an Enchilada Casserole.  The box comes with 2 savory sauces that make the putting together of the recipe super easy.  Combined with the fresh ingredients, you can have one of 3 (or more depending how creative you are) in the oven, skillet or slow cooker in a matter of minutes.

The prep could not have been any easier and everyone loved how it tasted.  Just 30 minutes in the oven and dinner was ready in a cinch.  I made it this first time very simply as I know my kids are picky little eaters.  Next time, I will add a few more extras to spice it up a bit like black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and chilis.  Yum!

I can’t wait to try all the other varieties available.  The hardest part is picking which one to buy and which recipe to make.  Next time you are at Safeway, don’t forget to browse the meat department and look for Kraft Recipe Makers yourself.

  1. I love the idea of layering enchiladas in a casserole – I guess that’s much quicker than rolling them! 🙂

  2. This one looks so good too. I am making the slow cooked BBQ Trip tip tonight. Can’t wait to taste it. it was a lot quicker than the chicken Florentine that I made last week, but was super duper delicious too.
