Many of you probably don’t know that travel is a growing passion of mine to rival my love of food. Recently, a pal of mine and I decided to start a new adventure together and created, Mama Needs a Vacation. We landed upon that name because there are so many days when I think just that thought! Whether it be a girls getaway, just me and my hubby or with the kids.. this Mama is always ready for a vacation getaway!
My family and I decided it was a great time to hop in the car and take a road trip North a few weeks ago since the weather has been just beautiful and all the Fall leaves are turning. We headed out to visit Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with a pit stop in Spokane, Washington.
Coeur d’Alene is just about three hours from our home. It’s an easy drive and traffic is always a breeze in this area.
We started our weekend by checking into the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort which has an unmatched rustic native inspired beauty. Everyone was so friendly and outgoing. The room was stunning and beyond comfortable.
After checking in we headed out to Triple Play and Raptor Reef for a bit of good family fun time. We wore ourselves out playing in the indoor waterpark, bowling, lazer tag, mini golf and go carts!
Back to the hotel, we grabbed a fantastic dinner at the Chinook Steak and Pasta Restaurant before hitting the bed for a good nights sleep.
On day two, we hit the swimming pool for a morning swim before heading down to the cafe for brunch.
We had a few hours to kill so we headed out to Heyburn State Park and took a nice long stroll along the lakeside and enjoyed the serene beauty of Idaho.
Back at the Coeur d’Alene Casino, I then was treated to an amazing massage!
Nope, we weren’t done yet! We jumped in our car and headed back toward home but not without first stopping at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Spokane. Again, the hotel and rooms were just amazing but this time in a modern inspired elegance.
We settled in and headed down to Masselow’s for a 4 Star dinner. The kids were so well behaved and loved every minute of it.
We followed up our dinner with a tour of the hotel with the staff supervisor and grabbed some fro-yo for the room!
In the morning, before our journey back home, we stopped in at the BIG brunch buffet. I was AWESOME! My daughter totally chocolated herself out to the max for her special breakfast, she was in awe that anyplace served chocolate milk, brownies, chocolate ice cream and hot fudge so early in the day!!
It was an amazing weekend that we will remember for a long time and I want to thank the Coeur d’Alene Visitors Center, Coeur d’Alene Casino, Triple Play and Northern Quest for making it so special for us!
