Clean Slate Riesling 2012 #WednesdayWine

I had the pleasure of sampling Clean Slate Riesling 2012 recently and am excited to say that I DO like Rieslings!  I am typically a big red wine drinker but I really enjoyed this bottle.

What makes this bottle different from others I have tasted? It’s from the Mosel region of Germany.  The unique characteristics of the Mosel give it a bit of spice which is what I love in a wine.

Clean Slate Riesling 2012

Overall Clean Slate has a ripe peach flavor with a bit of lime. The bit of spice comes from the terroir of that specific region of the Mosel which is largely slate.  A wonderfully ripe acidity made this wine a delight to drink without being overwhelmed with sweetness.

This is a 100% Riesling aged in Stainless Steel which give it a crisp clean taste.

This is a great wine for a light meal or fruity dessert and it is very reasonably priced at $10 for any occasion.
