Chocolate Baked Donuts

Who doesn’t love donuts?

My children LOVE chocolate glazed donuts and were so happy

when I finally made some on my own.

Only these donuts are not fried, they’re baked in the oven

and taste amazing.

Ingredients:

Donuts:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda together in a bowl.
In another bowl, combine the egg, sour cream, milk and vegetable oil.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and combine.
Spoon into the donut pan and bake in a 375 degree preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean; about 8 to 10 minutes.
Let cool before adding the glaze.

Donuts fresh from the oven…

I tried dipping the donuts in the glaze but it was really messy.

I set the donuts on a baking rack over a baking tray that I covered with wax paper and then “poured” or drizzled the glaze on top.

Worked great…

Ready to enjoy…
