I tried making this recipe. I used almond oil, pure cane sugar and Watkins imitation cherry extract. The mixture just smells like alcohol. The cherry fragrance is not coming through after mixed with the other ingredients. I even purchased a different cherry extract from amazon and still it is cancelled out by one of the other 2 ingredients. I didn’t even bother wasting my vitamin E oil since I cannot get the smell right. Any ideas on why this is going on?

    1. Yes, extracts have an alcohol base and some are very strong. I’d suggest maybe trying a fragrance oil instead like this one (affiliate link) http://amzn.to/2uJ1fsv on Amazon.

  2. Oh how I love this! I’m sharing your recipes for coconut and coffee scrubs this week at my blog! The idea of having a cherry ‘flavored’ one just makes me giggle. How awesome. Thanks so much for sharing these yummy gift ideas.
