Cheesy Onion Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Green bean casserole.  You look forward to the holiday season when your mom or grandma make this classic recipe.  For generations, you and your family have enjoyed the wonderful flavors of Del Monte® Green Beans, Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup along with French’s® Crispy Fried Onions all combined into a creamy rich bowl of deliciousness.  Now…. imagine we put a twist on it? 

Green Bean Casserole Essential Ingredients

I remember going to a Thanksgiving get together years ago and someone saying that the recipe was the “best” green bean casserole ever and thinking to myself, I bet I could do it better. (yes… I’m pretty competitive!). So I went home and decided to do a little twist on the classic recipe to see how it would turn out.  Since I am in love with onions, I knew I needed to add this to my recipe and cheese… well, cheese makes pretty much everything better right?  The result…

Let’s just say that I now hold the title of “BEST” green bean casserole in our family! 

The changes might be small but the gooey cheesiness and compliments of all the flavors can’t be beat. Don’t believe me? Go to Walmart and pick up everything you need in one place and try it for yourself and see what you think! 

 

Cheesy Onion Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Easy Cheesy Onion Green Bean Casserole

This is my twist on the classic green bean casserole!

Ingredients

  • 1 -10.5 oz can Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 -10.5 oz can Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 -14.5 oz Del Monte® Green Beans - drained
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1/2 sweet onion - sliced
  • 2 Cups grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • French's® Crispy Fried Onions

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients into a casserole dish
  2. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for 25 minutes
  3. Remove from oven and stir
  4. Cover top of dish with crispy onions and return to oven until onions are golden brown (approximately 5 minutes).

 

 

 

That’s it! Super easy and SO good.  Next thing you know, you’ll be asked to bring the green bean casserole for every occasion too!
