Brie Filled Phyllo Cups

With the 4th of July holiday coming up, I thought I would
share with you an easy appetizer for Brie Filled Phyllo Cups
that you can make ahead of time and place in the oven just as guests are arriving.
I’ve been making this appetizer for quite awhile and
not only is it a delicious recipe, but the brie cups look so pretty on a platter.

To make the appetizer more festive for the 4th of July holiday,
I would scatter some strawberries and blueberries to the platter.

Ingredients:

One box, 15 count phyllo cups
One wedge of brie cheese
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup slivered almonds, chopped
grated rind from one orange

Directions:

Cut the brie into small cubes.  You will not be using the whole wedge of brie for this one recipe.
Place a cube of brie into the center of each phyllo cup and place the phyllo cups on a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, slivered almonds and grated orange rind.
Spoon a bit of the mixture over each phyllo cup.
Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sugar mixture is bubbly.
Watch closely as the phyllo cups can burn.

Place a small piece of brie cheese in each phyllo cup…

Combine the brown sugar, slivered almonds and grated orange rind together…

Place a spoonful of the sugar mixture on top of each phyllo cup.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven…

Delicious and so easy!
