I was provided this car to drive and hotel free of charge to form my own opinions
I recently took a moms weekend away to check out the Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Since I arrived a day early, I needed a car to get out and about to explore the area. I was traveling solo so I really didn’t need anything too big. Just something comfortable, reliable and economical. That car turned out the be the 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage.
I actually had no idea what the car looked like before it arrived but when it was delivered I was so excited. It’s so cute and was able to pull up into a tight spot at the airport. I love when I have cars that can fit into spaces that nobody else can!
Right away I settled in and found the Extended Stay America San Jose conveniently located near the airport and just 10 minutes from the convention center easily on the navigation system. (perfect for the business traveler!) I simply pushed the hotels button and it found all of them that were near me. Really user friendly and very accurate.
The weather was not the lovely sunny 80 degrees that I had hoped for. I must have brought the grey and rain with me as it was a constant downpour the whole time. I’m talking about really testing this car out in water since there were huge puddles and rivers running down the streets. The front and rear wipers kept my vision clear and the car handled perfectly on the wet roads.
It certainly is not the fastest car on the road but I found that for the driving I was doing, it had more than enough power to get the job done. Even getting onto the freeways was a breeze when quick acceleration was needed.
Overall I found the car to be very comfortable for me. I had plenty of room for my legs (at 5′ 10″ I need some room) and it felt very roomy and open. There was more than enough room for my luggage and all the extras I took away with me from the show!
The very best part of this fun little car is how economical it is to drive. For hustling about the city you can expect 37 miles per gallon and up to 44 on the highway! All this for a price tag near $16,200!
So why do I call this car a city casanova? Easy. The Mirage is a smooth ride that will charm you instantly and make you fall in love with the ride in the city and the money you save!
