Christmas Décor for Your Home This Coming Holiday
Tis’ the season to be jolly, tra’ lala -lala! And why not when the year to close did its best to weather all
ups and downs, a crazy frenzy of both good and bad. This holiday season is a culminating moment of
taking pause and celebrating the triumph , streghth and living hope we each possess within . So bring
on the tinsels and all that sparkles, haul down those boxes of decors, maybe make some new ones too.
The season for fun, family and friends beckons, and what better way to ignite the fun than to decorate ,
decorate, decorate with all out splendor!
How to get it all together? Here are a few easy décor tips to make it all come alive.
1. Run wild with your imagination!
Think theme and color scheme: What kind of mood would
you want your space to evoke? What colors will you play with? Think, Wintry Wonderland (
lots of whites and silver sparkles ), Elegant Victorian Christmas ( glittery purples , deep toned
reds, sparkly golds), Cottage Style Christmas ( plaid reds and blues and shades of brown) just to
name a few.

2. Make merry with the door!
Starting with the entrance will give you a chance to test your
chosen theme. Nothing can be for “wonderland” likeand give such a joyous boost than to see
your doorway so cheerfully holiday welcoming. Work with what you have while at the same
time firing up your imagination with possibilities using natural materials around you; a fallen
branch, a gathereing of twigs, or even dried leaves can become unique décor accents.
Start with a good sized wreath on the front door, either hand made or store bought. If hand
made, decorate with tinsel flowerettes, or berries, twigs and twines, ribbons and raffia of
Run a garland around the door frame itself and make it come alive with the same décor
theme of the wreath. Trail color lights throughout the garland.
Dried leaves can become so magical when dip dried in wax . Simply gather leaves, dip in
melted wax, dust with a bit of glitter and attach by string on a twig!
3. Set up the Christmas Tree
Yes, obviously, you will, but I’m talking here of all those old decors
from Christmas pasts that simply can’t be thrown away. However, something new would surely
be nice. No need to break the bank, simply repaint or re-do old ornaments using felt paper,
buttons, sequins , glitter dust and whatever your creativity fancies! Twine the tree with colored
raffia or lace, and sparkle up with golden or multi-colored Christmas lights.

4. Deck the Halls
Yes, and the tables and chairs too! Make everything festive by placing Christmas
themed throw pillows on living room sofa’s… Simple red crepe papers around dining chairs tied
into bows is a fun way to liven up space. Simple Christmas angels, a basket of ornaments or
votive candles safely encased in glasses primed with holly can accent any space.
What could possibly be the most important thing to remember when decorating for the holidays
is that, it need not be critically expensive at all. In fact, the more handmade and creatively
fashioned a décor is, the more heartfelt and lovelier the emotion created. And to cap this off,
the best adornment for the holidays is of genuine smiles and feelings gratitude, the honest ring
of laughter of friends and families gathered. Bring out the feats, bring out the tinsels and be a
part of the whole world’s moment of sparkle, even if for a while.
